So I have been using this air mattress tent camping every night since June 26. After the first night, I did have to add a little more air, but they stated that in the directions. After that I have never needed to refill the air mattress. This last stay I have been in the same place since July 21 (it is now Aug 8.) I have not needed to add air at all during this time. It has stayed filled. I do want to make a note, that at one place I stayed it was very hot during the day & very cool at night. That first night when I went to bed, I noticed the air mattress was not as full. I was worried that it had a slow leak, but the next morning I woke up & it was as hard as a rock again. I realized it was not the air mattress but the temperature itself! I filled it when it was warm so the air was denser. At night, when it cooled, the air in the mattress was not as dense so it felt softer, but in the morning the heat made the air expand again. Once I realized this I just smiled realized this was a great air mattress and worth the money. Also as it does not have a heat refractive index or whatever it is called, it can get air in the mattress can get chilly at night. My solution, I cover the air mattress with a wool blanket, then put a sheet over top, problem solved! Well worth the money! Update. I have used this air mattress tent camping every night from June 26 till Nov 26. It is still working fine for me!

I wanted to clear up some confusion about this product. Another reviewer said they purchased this product for roughly $40 at Costco. The product he purchased is *NOT* the same as this one. I own both. Photos attached. The Costco version has fewer Stabilizers Knowing what I do about engineering and physics, the higher priced Amazon version is better. You could argue that the higher priced version has more points of failure, but a Simmons mattresses with more coils have more points of failure too, but the weight is distributed over more area. Do You see my point? Time will tell. I have both versions and one will last longer. What I do notice is that the Amazon version is more flat and certainly more rectangular. The cheaper Costco version slopes off at the edges more steeply lessening the useful sleeping area compared to the more expensive one. Ironically, the Costco version seems to advertise a larger size. Marketing people must have been involved ;)

My husband and I purchased this air mattress for a camping trip. However, when we tried to use it the first night, it would not hold air. We could not find a leak anywhere on the mattress and were left with nothing to sleep on for our entire camping trip.

Because were were just outside of the 30-day return window by about a day (we had purchased in advance for our trip) we contacted Light Speed for a replacement. Light Speed responded that they would only replace the mattress if they found that there was in fact a leak and if we paid for the return shipment. No customer should have to pay for return shipment of a faulty product, period. Moreover, why would a customer email for a replacement if the product was fine? When I responded stating that it was not fair to ask a customer to incur more costs associated with a faulty product, Light Speed has ignored me. It has now been over two weeks.

Do not buy Light Speed products.

Updated 8/9/2019:

I did alot of research into finding a good air mattress that was not made from PVC or other toxic materials, and this seemed like the best bet. Long story short, an air mattress is my main mattress, so I essentially sleep on it every night when I am home.

Well, the good news is that this mattress has held up incredibly well. Before this one, I had an Aerobed and a lot of cheap air mattresses from the discount stores. They all had problems - not to mention, the toxic fumes. The Aerobed was of course more expensive, and it did not last more than a year before it sprung a leak that I could not locate. This one is still going strong. It does have an issue once in a while though - sometimes the air seems to leak a bit and Im not sure why, because when I fill it back up, it is fine. (It could be that I dont tighten the cap / lock mechanism enough, it is hard to say).

The Aerobeds do have a cool feature where you can just flip a switch and they inflate themselves, which this does not have. However, the inflating process on this is fairly easy and reasonably quiet, so not a burden. You just need 4 D batteries for the pump. Otherwise the Lightspeed is fairly comfortable, and even more so now that I have put some padding underneath the fitted sheet (a few blankets). I sleep well on it and that counts for alot.

Overall I consider this much better quality than an Aerobed and I will never go back to a PVC bed again. I hope this company sticks around and gives us some more good products.

[Update as of August 9, 2019] My Lightspeed air bed is still going strong! Have been sleeping on it consistently since the beginning of 2017. It is so durable. Another cool thing about it is that it is versatile as far as firmness. if you want a firmer mattress one night, you can inflate it some more. Or If you want a bit more give, just let some of the air out until you get it right. I prefer this versatility over a conventional mattress, where you have less flexibility (unless you buy all kinds of toppers).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product. Highly recommend.

I love this. We bought this to have more flexibility when travelling and going to hotel rooms. Easily fits out two kids - aged 5 and 3. Nice support and inflates easy.
Makes things so much easier when travelling - however beware that deflated it takes up half of a small suitcase. Nevertheless, we all like this. A lot.

Update: Still works well. We have been to 3 hotels and works well everytime. The last time we stayed for 5 nights and I did not need to re-inflate it. My wife was sleeping on it with our two kids, but did report that on day 3 she started to feel uncomfortable.
Note that I do not allow the kids AT ALL to jump on this mattress for fear of ruining it. It makes common sense that this should be looked after.

Update 2020: We have used this at least a dozen times in hotels and with travel. Still functions perfectly I replaced the battery operated inflator with an electric one that I purchased for $20. Beats replacing D batteries that cost at least $12 for four. I would recommend you do the same.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pump is a piece of S*&#

The actual air mattress seemed really good, however, we didnt get to experience it fully blown up. I put in 4 fresh D batteries, which only inflated the mattress about 60% then the batteries died. I then left the campsite, bought another 4 D batteries (this time the top energize ones), only for them to die after 10 minutes of use. The pump is garbage and takes FOREVER to inflate. Either steer clear of this product or buy a better pump. very disappointed as sleep when camping is SUPER IMPORTANT!

Pros:

Fabricación con TPU.
Buen Sistema de estabilizacion.
Muy comodo.

Contras:

La bomba incluida.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable

Pumps up relatively quick and is comfortable for me. There are small strings in the inside that hold this air mattress together very nicely it doesnt shift around as much as other big ones Ive slept on before. I am always just very cautious nobody walks on it while inflated because Im afraid the plastic pieces holding these strings together will puncture the air mattress. Slim design is great with queen size elastic bottom sheet. I also like the material it doesnt feel like cheap slippery plastic and doesnt smell

Got my mattress as promised today, & hurried to install my batteries in air pump. batteries are new , & once i confirmed I did not mix the polarities, I tested each batterie with a volt tester. pump is defective. used the reverse hose on my vacuum to fill mattress & so far holds air. Now about the pump? did not want to go public & bash the product but no link to contact seller directly, & get a replacement. Maybe you could communicate with me now. Thanks
